Art Link Art Exchange Program 5th Grade

All 5th grade classes will participate in an exciting international art exchange with other 5th grade students around the world!  Students will begin creating their artwork next week and complete their artwork by mid November.  Students will create artwork that represents their culture and tells a story about their lives.  Please talk with your children at home about these topics and help them to think about how they can represent their culture in their artwork.

Some ideas students can use in creating artwork that represents culture can be:

  1. Holidays that your family celebrates
  2. Traditional food
  3. Family traditions
  4. Family gatherings
  5. Sports
  6. Hobbies
  7. Favorite activities
  8. Special family memory
  9. Ancestors
  10. Country of origin and heritage

Once completed, the artwork will be shipped to our Art Link partners in Cyprus, Mexico and Poland. This week in art we begin brainstorming and writing about culture, how art helps us to connect with and appreciate different cultures and what makes our own cultures unique.
